Flu virus Options

Hello Everyone & happy easter need abit of advice, my RA as been so serve having so many flare ups my problem is I was due to have my first infusion on the 28th Feb but I can't get rid of this flu virus I've been put on 4 lots of antibiotics + steriods
It goes for a couple of days then it come back & then i cant have my infusion, can't take my RA medication due to the virus
My GP as been brilliant & so as mine RA Doctor registar, in so much pain taking oramorph upto 4 times a day I am so worried it will come to a point I can't have my infusion any suggesion that I can or take & as any one been in my postion.

Hi Graham

Sorry to hear you are suffering so much. I can't offer much re the recurring flu symptoms but I can re the pain. I see from the ora morph that you are taking opiates for the pain, which presumably means there's a reason why you can't have NSAIDs. Me too. Ora morph is OK for short term pain treatment but it sounds like you need something more. Believe it or not, good old paracetamol is good. And you might also try a slow release version of morphine called MST Continuus which comes in a variety of strengths and gives up to 12 hours coverage. You need to talk to your GP
